How to Calculate Marks Percentage

To find your marks percentage, add all obtained marks and all maximum marks, then apply the formula below.

Formula

Marks Percentage = (Total Obtained Marks ÷ Total Maximum Marks) × 100

Steps

  1. List each subject and its maximum marks and obtained marks.
  2. Add all obtained marks. This is your total obtained.
  3. Add all maximum marks. This is your total maximum.
  4. Divide total obtained by total maximum.
  5. Multiply by 100 to get the percentage.

Example

Subject-wise: English 85/100, Math 90/100, Science 78/100, Social 88/100.

Total obtained = 85 + 90 + 78 + 88 = 341

Total maximum = 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 = 400

Percentage = (341 ÷ 400) × 100 = 85.25%
